Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how whatIhave (“we”, “us”, or “the app”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the whatIhave mobile app. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

whatIhave is a decluttering companion that helps you inventory what you own, decide what to keep or let go, manage a wishlist, run short declutter sessions, and optionally share with a community feed. Our AI companion, Hana, can answer questions and help with suggestions when you choose to use those features.

Questions about privacy can be sent through Settings → Help & feedback → Send feedback in the app, or by emailing whatihaveapp@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and password (password is handled by our authentication provider and is not readable by us as plain text). You may also add a display name, optional gender, and profile photo.

Inventory & wishlist. Items you add — including names, rooms, categories, status (keep / maybe / let go / gone), notes, quantity, optional estimated value or cost, let-go method, bookmarks, and optional item photos.

Community content. If you post to the feed, comment, clap, or answer community prompts, that content (and your display name and avatar) is visible to other signed-in members.

Hana conversations. Messages you send to Hana, Hana’s replies, and conversation titles are stored in your account so you can revisit history.

Feedback. Ideas, bug reports, and suggestions you submit through in-app feedback, including any text you write.

In-app activity notices. We store notification records about community interactions (for example claps or comments on your posts) so you can see them in the app.

Premium status. If you subscribe, we store whether Premium is active, the plan type (monthly, annual, or lifetime), and an expiry date when applicable. We do not store your full payment card details.

Device & local data. On your device we may keep preferences (such as currency or view modes), onboarding flags, reminder state, temporary files (for example export PDFs), and a short-lived image cache. Clearing cache in Settings removes temporary files and cached images — not your account data.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

We do not sell your personal information.

4. What is private vs shared

Private by default. Your inventory, wishlist, Hana chats, feedback submissions, saved posts, and in-app notifications are tied to your account and are not shown on the public web. Other members cannot browse your inventory.

Shared when you choose. Feed posts, comments, claps, and answers to community prompts are visible to other signed-in members, along with your display name and avatar. Official Guide posts from whatIhave may also be visible more broadly.

Photos. Item photos, avatar photos, and feed images are stored so they can be displayed in the app. Treat photos you upload as potentially accessible to anyone who has the link; do not upload sensitive images you would not want shared.

5. AI features

When you chat with Hana, we send your message (and, when needed, limited context such as a snapshot of inventory or wishlist items, or an item you attach) to an AI provider so Hana can reply. Chat history is also stored in your whatIhave account.

Premium AI photo features (such as suggesting details from an item photo or scanning a space) send the photo you choose to our servers and then to an AI provider to generate suggestions. Those photos are processed to fulfill your request; they are not added to your inventory unless you save the result yourself.

Do not include sensitive personal data in prompts or photos that you would not want processed by our AI providers.

6. Payments

Premium subscriptions and lifetime unlocks are processed by Apple (App Store) and managed through RevenueCat. Apple and RevenueCat handle payment details under their own privacy policies. We receive entitlement information (Premium on/off, plan, expiry) so the app can unlock features — not your full card number or Apple ID password.

7. Service providers

We use trusted processors to run the app, including:

These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or analytics trackers in the consumer app today.

8. Retention, export, and deletion

We keep your account data while your account is active so the app works for you.

Export. In Settings → Data & privacy → Export my data you can create a personal PDF or text summary of your profile basics, inventory, and wishlist.

Clear cache. Removes temporary local files and cached images on this device. It does not delete your cloud account data.

Delete account. In Settings → Account you can permanently delete your account. This removes your auth account and associated app data we store for you (such as inventory, wishlist, chats, and feed content tied to your user). Some residual technical copies (for example backups or CDN caches) may take a short time to expire. After deletion you will need a new account to use whatIhave again.

Community content you published may disappear for other members when your account is deleted because it is tied to your user id.

9. Children

whatIhave is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us through in-app feedback or whatihaveapp@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps.

10. Security

We use industry-standard protections such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), authenticated access controls, and server-side rules so users generally only access their own private data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong password and keep your device secure.

11. International processing

Our infrastructure and processors may be located in different countries than you. By using whatIhave you understand your information may be processed in those locations under this policy and applicable law.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of whatIhave after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be highlighted in the app.

13. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, use Settings → Help & feedback → Send feedback and choose the category that fits, or email whatihaveapp@gmail.com. We read submissions and will respond when a reply is needed.
